Oooh, do you think they cheated on their taxes? :D

I wonder if they had a really bad year or couple of years and didn't want to talk about it. My paternal grandmother would never talk about the hardest time her family had during the Depression, before her mom opened a restaurant, and I know it was pretty severe for them.
