oh how it drives me mad sometimes
Nov. 24th, 2012 07:00 pmI'm working on cleaning up my boxes in the basement, because several of them are mostly empty with a small mixture of crap and important things at the bottom. So I've done a decent job of consolidating those, but I've got a ton of fabric pieces that aren't big enough to go in the Fabric Bin but aren't small enough to be thrown out, and I need to do more sorting. The big problem, though, is that I mainly went into this to find my patterns and MY PATTERNS ARE STILL NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I want to practice modern machine sewing more, but I have a lot of great, classic patterns (many of them Vogue) and they're what I want, and I don't want to rebuy them. So I'm kind of in limbo here. But also it just pisses me off when I don't know something. I feel like there's a whole box that's just nice fabric and patterns, that's gone missing. And it's like this pops up once a month or so and I get mad at everything all over again. The one saving grace is that it's been really iffy as to whether Dad might have accidentally thrown it away, but he says that if we're talking about fabric in a bag in a box, no, he wouldn't have touched it, so now it's down to it just being mysteriously missing.
Maybe tomorrow I will go to KMart for another clear storage container or two. I can use them to organize scraps and finished pieces (and get rid of the awful long under-bed containers I got because Owen didn't want them).
The reason for this is I got Sew Serendipity for cheap at the consignment shop while I was looking for Christmas presents, and it made me once again go RAWR I WILL BECOME SEWING GODDESS which led to the inevitable "but why are all the patterns gone?" rage. But I do have some patterns, and I have these patterns, and I have fabrics and am going to order some fabrics for my 1920s clothes and I will work this out.
