Maybe because I'm so rarely sick, I almost never use sick days even when I'm not feeling well. Today, though, I left work an hour and a half early due to cramps. I'm better now, but that was bad.

This evening I put together a Haslam chart and I'm about to go try to scale up this slip pattern. I hope this system works better than the Lutterloh one (I think it was Lutterloh that I tried once ... whichever system it was, the pattern came out very angular and crappy). There are a ton of pattern diagrams on Pinterest to make use of without having to pay.

Edit: HASLAM IS THE BEST, scaling that up was so fun! My only issue is that there are all these burrs from my popping holes in the chart with an awl, so when I try to slide it around to get it into the proper position, it catches. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

VeraVenus finally has her 1940s coat pattern out! I would love to make it for myself (taking the shoulders in/down a bit) but the thought of altering it is like ... ughhhh. I've been waiting for it for a while, though, even if I'd prefer a more 1950s style. I need to stop spending money on things other than rent, food, and Christmas presents right now.

I need someone to tell me definitively if 1930s clothes would look okay on me. I keep going back and forth. I mean, literally the only thing I have in common with the fashionable figure of the day is a high waist, I can't imagine why the style would look at all flattering on me, but there's part of me that finds the early 1930s really appealing.
