ANOTHER POST
Dec. 5th, 2012 08:47 pmI'm doing some more fabric shopping, hopefully I won't have to buy anything for months and months after everything I've gotten lately. These are all tentative, I haven't purchased them yet.
- white gauze (with a woven stripe) for trimming my demi-polonaise
- white batiste for the Edwardian combinations (speaking of which, I'm confused by the description that says it's a corset cover/drawers combination, because I can't figure out how a chemise is supposed to fit under it ... I'm just going to wear it under the corset, idc); I have a swatch for it already from the thesis project
I'm still looking for velvet and corseting twill. I like this one, but I'm not sure if 10oz. is going to be too heavy. It sounds pretty heavy. Then there's this one, a bit more expensive but lighter. Velvet is proving difficult, as I don't care about it being silk but don't want it to be stretchy, and it's impossible to find solid-colored light blue non-stretch velvet, apparently. Maybe this light green? It's still not really courty, but the thing is when I wear white/light pink that's too close to my skin tone, it REALLY brings out how bad my complexion is.
Mood is the best, but since the latter two are only at Fabrics.com ... I could always go with a poly/cotton blend batiste for both the combinations and the trim and save on shipping.
