I just bought more fabric - a mustard brown linen/rayon blend for my 1920s skirt, an acetate light pink satin for my court dress (because I can't find any cheap pink velvet that isn't stretchy), white cotton shirting for undergarments, and twill for corsets. It was really the twill that was expensive, the rest was cheap and/or on sale. But now I'm like WHY DID I JUST SPEND SO MUCH MONEY. Well, I did get $13 off through googling for coupons, so there's that.

Re: the satin, I had been planning to go with the sage green, but it's just not very courty. Also it cost about 3x as much per yard. I have middling-high hopes that it'll come out all right; the main issue is that I worry it'll look like crap without any beading or anything, and since it's acetate I don't want to spend the time putting beads/sequins on it, you know?

Queuing up fashion illustrations from my May 1917 McCall's for DressatDownton. I figure, they're relevant and I need to share them somehow.

I liked the Making of a Lady/Marchioness! It was a little Gothic (and racist) for my taste, I think The Shuttle has a superior story, but I am shipping the leads, so.
