Argh, pictures of myself

chocolatepotTrying on my spencer with the full outfit to check where the bottom edge should be. In general - it fits, in the body and the sleeves, and it looks cute when I look at my reflection in the window. But when I went up to the full-length mirror - ugh. Sooooo wrinkly, I have no idea why. And it wasn't even like the little wrinkles you get when something's slightly too tight or the curve's just a bit off, it's like the outer layer is larger than the lining. But then I pulled it down a bit into place and it's much less bad, but I am still kind of disappointed with myself.
What are you doing with your chin, you doofus
Okay, very blurry, I'm not really sure why considering the camera took the shot itself, whatever. But it shows the back, which I like.
Leaning back to try not to do what I did in the first picture. Um. Blurry again as well. But you can basically see it! I've not pinned all the raw edges, and tomorrow I'll stitch them down and put on the (hopefully temporary) hook and bar to fasten it.
Any hair suggestions? The problem is that most 1790s hair seems to involve a lot of layers and I don't have any. I don't even know.
Julie forwarded me a Museum-L email so I could sign up for the list (it is the oldest-looking mailing list I have ever been on), and I'm so glad, because all of a sudden there's a very busy discussion of getting jobs as a recent graduate. A lot of it's the usual stuff, but it's encouraging and I'm picking up a few things. I'm going to get in contact with some local museums and historical societies and see if they have projects they want grants for, and then I can write them with the understanding that they hire me if they get the money. Might lead into a job-job at some point, might just be good experience.
