Oh man, Pinterest decided to let through every Tate Collection repin I tried to make over the past few days and now I have a dozen Mrs. Cadouxes all over my 18th century ruffles board.

Just tried doing this with my hair and I think I've managed something interesting and not awful! Exciting, exciting.

Still can't find my lost silk thread. But I finished all the hemming on the spencer - the only thing left is to put the fastenings on. I might wait until tomorrow to do that because I want to practice my whipped gathers right now.

That's a really pretty hairstyle. And I have no idea how one would do it without a maid to do one's hair.

What I did last night to try for it was take the top half of my hair, twist it up so the ends are peeking over the top of my head, and pin it down. It's not a perfect approximation, but I feel like some of that's just down to my uncooperative hair texture.
