Okay I'm sure I'm supposed to think Cora is being badass and Eva is bitchy, but the fact is that while this does make Eva look incredibly petty and nasty (though we all know she grows out of it), it also makes Cora look like the dumbest idiot to ever stupid.
Cora wtf why are you at ball???
Yeah, okay, I have a hard time buying that he would recognize her in a gown and mask hours/days later.
"Good luck whoring your son" was a good zinger, though, esp. considering that I think her snarkiness over the prince being "sold" is unrealistic and again stupid.
Espenson does a good job at making Rumple simultaneously Bad and Sympathetic, I will give her that. And Carlyle does a really good job of
This ragesexuality is ... interesting.
Yeeeaahhhh, I can't say I'm really surprised at this revelation about Regina.
Regina, what right do you and Cora have to do 99% of what you do?
Snow, you're so clever. <3
I'm not sure if Rumple falling in love with Cora so (apparently) quickly is bad writing or ... no, I think it's supposed to be like "this is why he was conflicted over Belle", but it's just too fast. Maybe this episode should have been a two-parter. But part of it is also that in a show that makes this huge deal about One True Love and any non-True Love pairing being, IDK, hollow and temporary, it's hard to have feelings about non-OTL pairings. We already know that Rumbelle is True Love, so therefore Rumple/Cora isn't; according to canon, then, they'd have probably never worked out.
OH SHIT REGINA'S GOING TO BE PISSED WHEN SHE WORKS THIS OUT also traumatized and ... oh god, her smiley face.
I do like that this kingdom isn't like "no only boys can rule, we are angry that you've had a girl", because frankly that's a cheap source of angst in a lot of stories.
That was a good juxtaposition, her great triumph with her death.
Lol nice job Snow, too slow.
