So I'm working on the article for YWU, and for some reason I've decided that "work dress" is the proper term for one of the dresses. I suppose I read a post about camp dresses at one point reminding people that a day dress is a good dress. The second dress in the article is a day dress.

But this "work dress" is very nice, a wool print, with a gored skirt. It feels too nice to call a work dress, and that's not a period term afaik anyway. I went to double check my timing for dinner and tea in an actual source and some of the text in it hit me.

MORNING DRESS. It's a morning dress. I guess I completely forgot about that term because 1) it's so bound up with the regency to me right now and 2) most Victorian dress talk I see is centered around camp rather than home life. Bit it feels like, wow, major lapse in brain.
