Jul. 15th, 2012 05:02 pmI think I need to make it a policy with myself to, when making modern clothes, sew only the long seams on the machine. Or else to just do it completely by hand. Because I'm working on this dress - this dress for me to be a bridesmaid in next weekend - and it is pissing me off so much. From the irritation that I may have bought silk with polyester in it (not necessarily a terrible thing, but it pisses me off when stores label fabric as one thing when it's actually a blend, and it's happened to me a couple of times) to the wrinkliness to accidentally catching bodice fabric while understitching the facing, I just feel like I am terrible at sewing on a machine, even when I'm making an effort to go slowly.
I tell myself this every time I sew and yet I never do just do it by hand. I probably won't next time, either.

Okay, less rageful and angry. I suppose it helps that I cleaned up the dining room/my sewing table as well so that the next time someone complains about it I can point out that I did get it mostly squared away.
