So I finished, and I'm not significantly more impressed, possibly the opposite.

that's not a very good lead in )

I read the first two books because I got them cheap at a book sale and I love light fantasy. I'm not looking for the next two.

So Amazon has the Uniquely You dress form for $170 and AllBrands has it for $140. This really isn't enough to care about yet I'm still kind of nervous that the AllBrands one is somehow inferior. ??? Any thoughts?

Also need thoughts on an early Victorian corset. Should I go with:

- Katherine's similar-to-Regency corset, with gussets and straps; I would need to add another pair of gussets in the bust, probably, I tried to make this once before

- The Corsets & Crinolines one, strapless and kind of adorable? OTOH, maybe I need straps?

- One I patterned at Cherry Hill, which is pretty standard but differs in that it only comes down to the waist except in front. Advantage: different, less fitting to do, technically below the waist doesn't need corsetry in periods with full skirts. Disadvantage: digging in at waist? possibly too early for early Victorian

I need other opinions.

Just bought my Uniquely You form (through Amazon, it turned out that it was more expensive because shipping is $30 cheaper) and 17thc. Dresses! It was a lot of money. D: I don't like spending that much in one go. But it was all gift money I'd either just got or been saving. Saved too long, tbh, it feels like my money by now.

Starting to watch Honey & Clover. I like it? I only like a few anime, but it's drawn/animated well enough and about real-enough circumstances that I can get into it.
