Also I'm cramping
Apr. 8th, 2013 07:24 pmScaled up and cut out 1840s corset last night - the original of that one is a pretty decent size! I didn't realize. Each side is about 18"-11.5"-18". So handy, I didn't have to do much alteration and I actually have to take my mockup in a bit at the hips and probably in the bust.
Netflix has some really shitty movies, doesn't it? I didn't realize. Usually I watch tv shows through it.
Work was decent. I had a stack of folders to deal with when I came in, which took me a good chunk of the day, and I managed to get off hoop skirts in my research and worked at looking into mentions of Princess Alexandra in period texts and then early mention and discussion of 1880s tailormades.
I just want to make everything. I want to make everything and spend full days in it to experiment with how it feels! It is endlessly frustrating to me that it takes so much time and money to make period clothing, because I want to just snap my fingers and have a bustle and try out walking and sitting in it.
