So I have this theory about historic clothing: the more vague rhetoric someone uses to explain how accurate their product is, the less likely it is to actually be so. "Museum techniques", "museum replica", "studied hundreds of extant pieces", etc. It probably applies to everything (and could be more succinctly put as "less is more"), but I've especially been noticing it at work: I haven't mentioned being new since my first week and nobody else seems to either, but Deb's been there about twice as long as me - and worked at a doctor's office before - and people still refer to her as "new". And then you have Pat, who has five grandchildren and has been a nurse for at least 25 years, probably more, and who keeps going on about how little she knows because she's new in this office. I mean, come on.

I'm becoming more sympathetic to Arrested Development S4. The decision to make the whole thing with overlapping timelines was at first kind of tiresome, just a lot of repetition, but in the second half it really pulled together. Also, there was more Lucille and Mabey in the second half, and Lucille is really who I watch the show for.

I have been super argumentative on Tumblr lately. Maybe people getting out of college suddenly have more free time to be asshats, maybe I have a taste for blood.
