(no subject)

Started my NaNo last night! I've pretty much jettisoned all standards - I'm too familiar with it (and with failing it) and I don't particularly care about the written or unwritten rules anymore. I'm attempting to write several short stories with varying tones, no set word counts I'm trying for or anything. Ideally I'd like to achieve five, but tbh I'll be satisfied if I manage one.

Mike Dash wrote a pretty fantastic short essay on the subject of the myth that Poland was spared by the Black Death. You should read it: it's very good.
