I am SO ANNOYED
Oct. 18th, 2011 08:50 pmThis bag of fabric! I know I brought it home from New York in one of my boxes, but then it occurred to me that a cardboard box in the basement wasn't the best place for fabric because bugs could get into it, so I put it ... ??? I have no idea where. It's not in my tupperware of cloth (unless it is and I keep looking past it, this is quite possible), it isn't in any of my other cardboard boxes, it isn't in my closet, it isn't under my bed or dresser, and it doesn't seem to be in any of the communal areas of the house. I spent much of my security deposit on it, so I'd really like it back. Also I'm never going to find linen that nice for $7/yd again, seriously.
I just don't understand where else it could be!
ETA: I was hoping that posting about it would make me find it, but no. I just want to cry, How stupid do you have to be to lose a big, heavy plastic bag with about $150 worth of fabric in it? And it's not just that. I don't buy fabric very often. Practically ever, especially if I'm not right about to use it. So I've had it sitting around for about five months, thinking about my pretty rose linen and how I was going to make it into such a nice dress once I'd gotten a bit better so I didn't waste it by screwing it up. And now it's like - oh, I guess I should have screwed it up because at least I'd have gotten to touch it!
And Dad thinks I should just let it go and replace it. NO. I can't. There is literally no reason for it to not be in this house, since I've never taken it anywhere. The only options are a) it's here somewhere, b) it has been stolen, or c) somebody in this family messed it up and then hid it somewhere/threw it out to hide their shame. B is nonsensical. C is paranoid. A is the only possible answer.
