Last night I watched Who Do You Think You Are for the first time in a long time - it was much better. I think it's because they went back further in time than they usually do, and therefore spent more time talking about the research. I used to get very frustrated at how much time the actors spent standing around and talking about how close they felt to the ancestor, but it seemed like it just moved at a faster clip, and was a more interesting story than many of the episodes I've seen.
Wanted to link to the Double Period Costume Competition entries, some are quite something. I definitely wish I'd done something in the 1912 beginner category - would've won by default. :(
I forgot to link to the picture I put up of my stays. They're not very impressive, both because of the stage they're at (no binding, no boning) and because they're unbleached linen sewn with unbleached linen thread. I keep reminding myself "you're an artist, this is your medium, no, you are an artiste." Also on a bloggy subject, 1) I'm trying to go through my old posts and de-hotlink the images - I know, I know, but I think I thought when you put in the image's link in the WYSIWYG editor it copied the picture and put it on Blogger, but that was incorrect - some of them get a lot of hits and I don't want to be taking too much of other people's bandwidth - also I'm revamping some of the definitional posts to take my newer research into account or look less crappy; 2) I'm going to be taking patterns of all the dresses used in the exhibition at AIHA! Sadly there is no time or money to print them as a book, but they're going to be hosted on the website and that's awesome. Great for my resume, great for people who want patterns, great all around.
