It's a good feeling
Mar. 22nd, 2013 09:00 pmJust put the button/hole on the frill! It is the best buttonhole I've ever done, I guess I must have leveled up when I wasn't paying attention. Just looking at it on the dress form - it looks very finished and all the bits are doing what I want. So happy!
ETA: I have this tendency to, when I hear that there's a family story attached to an object, immediately dismiss it and decide that the dates can't possibly match up. I'm not very good at dating clothes between 1810 and 1828 or so, so I kind of took the catalogue's date for that gown I patterned that I want to make (1821) as the family history was that it was worn at Clermont in 1824. But now I'm looking at this plate in La Belle Assemblée 1825, and I think it actually could have been worn to that ball. Which is kind of neat.
