The other day this woman came in to see one of the doctors, and she was having an issue where she couldn't pay for what she wanted but wasn't poor enough to qualify for Medicaid. She started going on about the need for a national healthcare system and it was one of those situations where you agree with everything someone's saying but they're coming off as a little bit unhinged because of the way they're saying it, you know? And inwardly I was cringing because I know at least one co-worker is so conservative so I'm betting the others are as well - and I was not "disappointed". Practically before the door shut (not really practically, it was before the door was shut) Deb started in on how crazy the woman was, mythical long NHS lines, etc.
I had to point out that she's been booking people into August and now has to go through and take out all the new patients who've been waiting weeks to get in here because her doctor's leaving, forcing them to find new specialists and make appointments for July/August or later there ... she didn't care, but I had to point it out, because seriously? Like you can immediately see specialists here?
