Feb. 15th, 2014 08:56 amMy wrist hurts SO much today! No typing with the left hand anymore; it really seems more like I Hurt My Wrist With Trauma than I Overworked It With Repetitive Motions, but I might as well try to avoid doing anything with that hand. It's really twisting motions that hurt the most, though. Doing the hooks on my bra are agony.
So tomorrow my era for the tea may very well be 1960s, because the idea of doing up and tightening a corset, plus tying/hooking/pinning anything is frightening me. But I do have a vintage B. Altman coat I've been really wanting to try out, so there's that, and Mom is helping. I will be fat Audrey Hepburn.
Yesterday I convinced Mom to set up an Etsy store for selling her portraits of ancestors. Gramma has a huge box of photos, which I scanned (all ~430 of them), and we all have copies. I think the oldest is ca. 1885 or 1890, and most are 1910s, and anyway she uses them as practice for oil or watercolor painting. And there are now all of these cute paintings around the house, not doing much, but they're kitschy and bright and if I can sell so many old hardcovers on Etsy surely somebody there will want little Victorian/Edwardian paintings.
Speaking of Etsy, I sent out Kitty Calash's order yesterday. After remaking the 8" circumference ruffles to be 10" and wondering how I could have mismeasured so much ... I realized that these had been prototype amadis ruffles for the ends of sleeves, and I have the real 10" ruffles tucked away somewhere. BTW, does anyone have a redingote or something
Went to CVS for cheap candy yesterday, was told it would be on sale today. Went today and was told it would be on sale tomorrow. WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END? Instead I got athletic tape to wrap my wrist. I think it's helping, at least I'm not accidentally twisting it anymore.
