Sep. 30th, 2014 06:04 pmThis morning I was trying to take the stupid dog out to poop, he stopped at the edge of the porch right in front of my feet and I stepped on him, so of course he bit me. I was in pajama shorts and the fleshy part of my calf was handy, so it looks pretty nasty. I am the nicest person to this dog, so much nicer than Mom, but what does it get me? Bitten.
My mourning dress pattern came! I already know it's not built exactly accurately, so I've thought about how I'm going to make it close properly instead of with a side zipper. I've decided to make a fitted lining that fastens in the front, with a guimpe/bib-panel attached to one side and snapping to the other (instead of a separate thing that rests on your shoulders like in the pattern), and then the surplice neckline will snap on one side and then the other. I haven't really looked at the pieces yet, so I don't know how agreeable they'll be to this plan, but hopefully it won't be a big deal. Now to find my corset.
Finished editing my Outlander post. I'm a bit worried about it being too inflammatory, but my natural instincts have probably made it okay.
