Feb. 3rd, 2015 08:57 pmThis morning I beat Black & White 2. This is important because I only play either games with no end (Sims) or platformers where I inevitably lose interest or reach a point at which my fingers can't move fast enough. The last world was very hard but I persevered and now I have closure. Those damned Aztecs, though. It was a close-run thing, I had to restart the level at least five times.
It's always funny to me when someone calls Barry by name on The Flash, because my initial reaction is to wonder why they're mocking him (see: Misfits). Which is also funny because whenever I see Iwan Rheon on GoT my brain just goes "Barry!" and other more inappropriate things about melons, sisters, and cheese, so now Barry West is inextricably linked with Ramsey Snow-Bolton.
I might have to add a little smidge to my old petticoat waistband, but it's hard to say as the dress form is STILL a good inch or so bigger than me, plus it has no corset on because it's still too big to squish. The petticoat is definitely shorter than the bustle, but the second petticoat will be the proper length.
Kjirsten encouraged me to put caps on Etsy, and that made me think about trying to be more productive. From now on, when I get my schedule for the week I'm going to mark off several hours of definite bustle gown time and several hours of definite cap time. The more caps I do, the faster I'll get at them, and having structured time to tackle the bustle gown might make the project seem less intimidating.
Tomorrow I'm going to the thrift store for a sheet to make into a second petticoat. Which will give me good practice before I get to the skirt itself.
I have entered the dreaded black hole of FACEBOOK VACCINATION ARGUMENTS but he's just saying so many stupid things ... I have made my last response and will not be making any more, I swear. But I've pointed out like three times that it's not about "making choices for your own body", this is overwhelmingly about children who are not being given a choice, let alone an informed one, and ugh. Then he redirects to "Americans aren't that important, let's focus on getting vaccinations to Africa instead of talking about how selfish it is to rely on herd immunity to protect your child."
The other thing I got done today is that I finished up tomorrow's post and started working on the GdM coiffure pages that I skipped (they weren't in the reprint, okay, I have to take them from the MFA) and forgot about. So I mean, I sat around a lot today but I did get things done.

So this is one of the patterns I got in the OOP sale, and I think I've decided that it will be the one Mom makes for me as my Christmas present. It looks like it could be flattering on me and if Mom makes it it will probably be very nicely done. It'll have to be shortened a bit, though.
