Last night, I went to Audra McDonald's concert at Crane. Sooooo good. I don't remember the order, but she sang Baltimore, Summertime, Climb Every Mountain, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, a horribly depressing one about an otter and a bear (that she introduced as a children's song, but it involves them growing old and one dying, wtf, so much anxiety set off), Moonshine Lullaby, I Could Have Danced All Night (SHE MADE US SING WITH HER!), It Might As Well Be Spring, Make Someone Happy (funny as I always thought she performed that with Brian Stokes Mitchell in the Encores series but I realized when looking at the CD a few months ago that it was a different soprano), something from Flora the Red Menace, and two CraigsListlieder - "You Looked Sexy", which was funny, but then she followed it with "If Anyone Knows", which was hysterical, and we were dying. There was at least one other song written in the last ten years in there. Oh, and she asked Sondheim which of his songs she should add to her repertoire, and I was afraid it would be No One Is Alone, but she surprised me with Moments instead!
Finished sewing my Regency skirt seams. Now I need to do the bodice, oh dear. I've been using a bright blue silk thread for the interior seams, but for anything where the stitches show I'm probably going to use pulled wefts from the remaining fabric as I don't have teal.
Walked about three miles today doing grocery errands. That made me feel better about sewing for hours while watching Empresses in the Palace. What I really need to do is make CURTAINS, but this is how I am about sewing anything that doesn't have clear instructions already written down for me.
Watching Resident Advisers this evening. It's pretty funny but the weirdest thing is Junie from Spy Kids, who now has Junie's head on a man's body. You know what I mean.
