My 2016 Historical Sew Monthly plan:

January: Procrastination – Finish my checked cotton Regency dress! It's a bit over half done, but I made it over a crappy corset and with my long one I can probably raise the waistline a couple of inches, and maybe that CF bodice gathering will look better. I need it for the Battle of Ogdensburg stuff in February.

February: Tucks & Pleating – Make a chemisette with tucks down the body.

March: Protection – Might skimp out and make an apron. If only this one and Tucks were farther apart ... but I could get both of them done quickly and start on the later ones sooner.

April: Gender-Bender – I'd like some of these to be things I can wear IRL, so a mannish kind of 1930s outfit might be best.

May: Holes – New corset? This is probably realistic for when I will get around to dealing with my Victorian corset issues. IE I don't have one anymore because I opened up the seams to figure out how much more ease I needed in the hips.

June: Travel – ??? I know I don't have the oomph to make a riding habit. I will have the Civil War Weekend coming up in July, though, so if I could make a ~traveling dress~ or something to wear there that would be good.

July: Monochrome – Little white dress! Or possibly white cotton 1930s dress for everyday wear. Oh, or a 1910s-1920s style nightgown because I need a summer nightgown.

August: Pattern – Maybe a 1930s patterned charmeuse blouse/dress? With pattern matching??

September: Historicism – My favorite thing, historicism! Maybe a 1910s white cotton dress to call back to the Regency LWD.

October: Heroes – My historical heroes are mainly female couturiers, so that shouldn't be too hard to pull together a concept for at some future point. Maybe an early 1910s Chanel hat reproduction?*

November: Red – No idea just yet, but that's open enough that I can do anything. Won't worry about it yet.

December: Special Occasion - This has to be VERY SIMPLE because I now know that November and December are horribly busy at work. Might go with a 1930s blouse or skirt for the Holiday Open House or something like that. (I keep going back to the 1930s even though '40s would be allowed - the trouble is that I think early '40s clothes would look terrible on me, in the bodice anyway.)

* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Still haven't figured out what to write for "Secret". That one's really hard to do textually - you can just include a hidden piece of embroidery or something if you're sewing, a patterned lining, etc. etc.
