chocolatepotToday my hair and face were AMAZING. I did the ol' Heidi, braiding my hair and pinning it up over the top of my head, and it settled into this very 1910s kind of low width, and my makeup is perfect (transitioning out of winter colors, I wore Paris Pink lipstick). I was just looking at myself under the very warm yellow bathroom light, thinking What a frickin' Edwardian queen I am, but when I tried to take a selfie I just looked pale and haggard and frizzy. Un. Fair.
Okay, now the time has kind of run out for quilted flannel dressing gowns, so I have to make sure to make a light robe before it's properly summer. And I really have to finish this stupid wool jumper-dress before it's too warm to wear wool.
You should watch Man Up on Netflix. Romantic comedy of errors, messed up people, all the good old favorites (Simon Pegg, Harriet Walter, Olivia Williams, Rory Kinnear, Stephen Campbell Moore - though I feel like it needs Lucy Punch) ... very funny.
I was going to ask for some beta reading of my corset-making translation because I was having a real problem understanding wtf was supposed to be going on, but I just double checked and I mistranslated "lengthwise" as "widthwise", and fixing that cleared a whole lot up. Except that now I'm having another - the instructions say "on le fend à sa moitié longitudinale et jusqu'à sa moitié transversale": the et and jusque together are throwing me off. Exactly how am I supposed to be cutting this?
