Jun. 4th, 2016 10:33 pmI cut out the corset pieces (except the bust gussets) and very cleverly did the center back channels and grommets before even trying any piecing. Probably most people realize this is the sensible way to do it, but they're normally one of the last things I do because I hate them.
The waist of the corset is fairly small - maybe too small, but I knew my last corset could have been smaller, so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen. Theoretically it will give me ~3" of reduction, which, uh ... we'll see. This is the next thing up from self-drafted - I looked at the Sebille corset patent, figured out what waist measurement it should have for me, figured out how tall it should be, and drew it. Since it's all vertical with added gussets, that's all it should need.
The pieces look really short, but I've lengthened things too many times because they "look wrong" only to have them turn out too long, so none of that!
