Finished Emily Fox-Seton this morning. At first I thought it was a shame that the movie changed it so dramatically, from Emily's (supposed to be incredibly naive and childish; also supposed to be somewhat amazonian in appearance) and Lady Maria's (supposed to be more of a helpful relation than a terrible employer) characters to all the drama with the Osbourns (which got wrapped up pretty simply), but then the out-of-nowhere obligatory FHB "doctor's can't cure you" ending was a clunker. In the end I think it was a decent tradeoff.

I'm starting to get along with Windows 8 more now. The only things I can't stand, though, are that I can't turn the computer off from the start screen, and that it seems impossible to exit some apps.

I cannot believe I ate food that smelled like the garbage. I noticed that it tasted a bit weirdly bland for salmon but I put it down to the way it was cooked (by someone else, a few days ago, in another house) but then I was like "this is not right" and I smelled it and went WAIT THIS IS WRONG. I don't think it's making me sick, but I feel psychosomatically sick because of thinking about it.
