AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I took a shortcut and instead of shortening the bodice before doing all my FBA stuff, I just sewed the skirt to it higher up ... and didn't do it high enough, and the waist is too loose. I've already hand-sewed the zipper in and now I just feel like ughhhh. Plus it's got a very close fit in the bust, and it just looks crappy overall. I can't get the zipper up all the way in the back. I'm torn about whether it's worth trying to fix it or if I should just take the skirt off and ditch the bodice. But I made the back match up a little!

Yesterday I went to JoAnn and bought ten Simplicity patterns, which are all the in print vintage patterns that I like (minus the 1940s pantsuit, which they only had in W sizes) plus a bustier pattern I'm going to make functional. Nobody needs three different apron patterns but they're so cute.

I think after I go to the store and get groceries I'm going to start working on the Swirl dress, because it's fairly simple and I need a success to make up for the dress I just FAILED at.

Oh hey, I forgot to tell you: that story I wrote for Once Upon a Fic is called A Splendid Princess, and it fully deserves its "tooth-rotting fluff" tag. It's based on the fairy tale "Diamonds and Pearls," the one where the girl gets diamonds and pearls when she speaks and her sister sucks so she gets snakes and frogs. My continuation is set in the 1920s.

You can also read the story that Gehayi wrote for me, Slow Poison, about the same fairy tale (but way less fluffy) - at very short notice but you'd never know it.

It was a very small fest, you can see all the stories here. I think I'll be doing it next year, as well as Chocolate Box again, and this winter I foresee myself entering ... *gasp* Yuletide.
