AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
May. 29th, 2016 02:35 pmI took a shortcut and instead of shortening the bodice before doing all my FBA stuff, I just sewed the skirt to it higher up ... and didn't do it high enough, and the waist is too loose. I've already hand-sewed the zipper in and now I just feel like ughhhh. Plus it's got a very close fit in the bust, and it just looks crappy overall. I can't get the zipper up all the way in the back. I'm torn about whether it's worth trying to fix it or if I should just take the skirt off and ditch the bodice. But I made the back match up a little!
Yesterday I went to JoAnn and bought ten Simplicity patterns, which are all the in print vintage patterns that I like (minus the 1940s pantsuit, which they only had in W sizes) plus a bustier pattern I'm going to make functional. Nobody needs three different apron patterns but they're so cute.
I think after I go to the store and get groceries I'm going to start working on the Swirl dress, because it's fairly simple and I need a success to make up for the dress I just FAILED at.
