Hist. of Fash.
Aug. 21st, 2011 11:09 pmIn lieu of doing absolutely anything worthwhile, I made a post on artistic Neoclassical costume (prompted by
rose_bertin's on Reynolds and Gainsborough), mainly taken from my symposium paper. Although I did throw in a little speculation that I didn't have time for during the seminar. I'll have to go back and add more pictures in. And I need to do one on what Greek women actually wore so I can explain a particular thing the artists took from the chiton.
Things I Need to Sew:
- Cliff's breeches (Oct. 20)
- Donna's costume (Oct. 31)
- outfit for Fort Ti (Sept. 11/12)
- something for costume party?? (Oct. 20?) (poss use previous)
Things I Want to Blog About Instead:
- progression of Regency/GeorgIVian fashion
- changes during 1830s
- Worth and the crinoline/bustle 1850s-1880s
- Fashioning the Modern Woman (1900-1920)
- basically every transition ever
My poor abandoned Tumblr. ;_;
