Yeah, I'm really not getting a lot done today

- I love what Lady Genna says about Tyrion being the most like Tywin. It makes me really want to finish this so I can read ADWD and find out what he's been doing. (I also love the bookmark function on the Kindle, I forget what I want to remark on in normal books.)

- Noooooo, Loras, Margaery needs you! :( But she's right, dying is not dead, esp. in ASOIAF where dead is not always dead.

- Cersei's idea of having a bank in Westeros is great, but the fact that she thinks of it as "the Golden Bank of Lannisport" highlights her blind spot and weakness when it comes to ruling a country.

- Tommen telling Cersei he won't let her hurt Margaery makes me sad that he's obviously going to die. Cersei's reaction is also creepy - she'd rather he were a sadist like Joffrey than the way he is.

- Brienne mistaking Gendry for Renly hits two of my kinks: royal bastards and people looking just like relatives, especially if the way they're different is that they look like they've had a harder life. Three, maybe, if we can count Gendry as a kink (and I think you do).

- The only reason I prefer the Freys to the Iron Islanders is that the Ironborn have PoV chapters, so Jaime's set-down ("That makes you twice as treacherous as Piper.") was very, very welcome. And Jaime's proposed solution to the Riverrun problem is nice and elegant.

- "Leal service"? What is wrong with "loyal"?

- From "I suppose I shall need to find a new King's Justice to snick her head off" I was already going oooooh Anne Boleyn parallel (and being amused that Natalie Dormer plays Margaery), and then they tortured the musician into confessing falsely and giving other names. Tudor high five, GRRM.

- OH MAN, DORAN. I was wondering what the deal was with the elderly suitors for Arianne, because I knew GRRM got the whole "betroth the children to each other" thing, but then - SURPRISE VISERYS. Bam. And Quentyn is going to help Dany, can't wait to see that in ADWD.

- "Innocence and experience make for a perfect marriage." <- I know Petyr says he plans to marry Sansa to Robert's heir (great move, btw), but things like that and the forcing her to kiss him really, really make me worried he's going to try to marry her at some point while she's completely dependent on him. :/

- Ser Lothor is cool and I ship him with Mya, but he's almost certainly going to die at some point.

- I like the phase "bastard brave". Is that a thing? Searching the phrase gets me a lot of porn links, so I guess it's not and he invented it, but it's so evocative.
