Finally got around to watching DA

chocolatepotNothing good ever will happen to Edith, yes? Wow. This is actually so bad it's kind of making me laugh a little? Someone in Tumblr remarked that Molesley is the Jerry of Downton, but in some ways Edith kind of is as well because if something can go wrong for her, it will.
Well, no, Molesley is definitely Jerry.
This episode has done nothing to repair my lowered opinion of Matthew, though. I mean, ffs, just hear the letter out.
Thomas and O'Brien were so good at scheming together, it's wonderful to see them turning that energy on each other. They're the best part of the show so far this season. No holds barred cage match of the titans!
It kind of feels like all the plot threads are being finished too early and too much at the same time though. :/
In sum, if the rest of the episodes this season were just upstairs: Edith and downstairs: Thomas/O'Brien, I would be very happy.
