Weirdly, suddenly depressed this evening
Oct. 2nd, 2012 08:11 pmI think it's down to a few things.
- I really want this job, and it's not like other times where I'd like to be working in a museum and the opportunity seems decent, this is basically a dream job (you know, whenever people ask me what my one dream job would be, I have no idea how to reply - I don't have a specific position I want to get to and never leave) but given that I never get even an interview for the other museum jobs I apply for and this one is going to have a million applicants ... I just don't have much hope.
- I dried the shit out of the roast I made tonight. Some of it's not even edible.
- The tv keeps making weird spitting sounds periodically.
- I'm rereading Queen of Fashion and thinking about Marie Antoinette is depressing.
- I just got to the robe à la piemontaise fashion plate and it turns out everyone else was right about what it is and I was wrong. The description outright says that the pleats are cut out and attached at the top of the collar. (On the bright side, at least I finally know where the original uncited sources were getting their information and know what it is for sure; also on the bright side, I had a smaller readership back then.)
- An ex-classmate has a blog and when I've commented on it she doesn't respond, which could be down to a number of things but I'm of course choosing to believe it means everyone from FIT hates me because I'm bad at keeping up with them.
- Three or four of the museums I've asked for appointments/information from haven't responded to me at all.
- I've just had enough of being home all the time. Yeah, it's nice being able to watch whatever I want all the time, but it would be nicer to have some real responsibilities so I could feel like I was getting anything done.
Things that should be alleviating it:
- Mom bought me a liquid eyeliner today and I put it on and it looks pretty decent.
- The curator I was talking to said that it's about manipulating and lifting, so I can touch the dress, so I think I will be going there after all.
- Mindy Kaling's show is on tonight.
- Someone gave me the Liebster Blog award.
ETA: Seth Myers being on the Mindy Project does actually make me feel better.
