Those princess seams are tricky beasts
Jul. 13th, 2013 07:05 amYou know, I really like the lady-costumes in Copper from an aesthetic perspective - they're gorgeous, they don't look flimsy or anything - but Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire have spoiled me. There's just something generic-Victorian about Elizabeth's dresses! I think it's that her necklines tend to be deep rather than wide, and deep during the day, and the bodices are fitted with princess seams. And her waists are pretty low, and her hair tends to be intricate rather than massive. But I still love her dresses, especially the one with all the marabou (I'm a sucker for marabou).
I want Ellen to improve in mental health, though, because I can tell she's going to be my favorite in the future, and I'm going to be rooting for the adorable composite family. (Watch her or Annie or both get killed in the finale now.)
