Mom, from both angles
Aug. 5th, 2013 07:15 pmI love my mom. I was just telling her that I recently realized as nice as it would be to have A Man To Love Me, what I really want is just: kids. I really want to have children. And my mom's response is "you can do that nowadays! And I can help babysit! :D" And it's not because she just wants grandkids, it's because she's awesome and thinks what I want >>> what's supposed to be normal.
I'm worried about her, though. The rheumatologist has found that she has cryoglobulins, proteins in the blood that become solid at certain temperatures. She's always had Reynaud's, but it gets really bad - her hands go purple and numb at temperatures in the 60s - because the cryoglobulins block her blood vessels. The rheumatologist wants her to go to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore for a couple of days of tests. That's scary.
