Woo, I'm actually doing things today!

chocolatepotI started by getting out of bed before 8, which is a big step for me since I keep having a hard time falling asleep which results in waking up really late. I watched an episode of Orange is the New Black while I had my tea, and then started making applesauce, which lasted until noon. I kind of hate the smell now, but I think it turned out well. Ginger Gold is not the best variety for this sort of thing, but it doesn't need added sugar, I don't think. After lunch, I walked over to the store and got a few things I needed, plus a bottle of fizzy pomegranate lemonade for the picnic tomorrow.
Yesterday I cut out a gown lining mockup from my crap fabric stash, just adding a little bit to the front edges and both sides of the side back seams to make it big enough (the pattern was surprisingly close). I tried to hold it up to myself and that just wasn't working, so after shopping I went to put my stays on my soft dress form. How does anyone do anything with the Uniquely You forms? I'm kind of pissed at myself for wanting one so much and getting the money as presents and buying it, because it's so useless. The stuffing's already under so much pressure that it doesn't want to squish any more in a corset, and the shoulders are so huge I can't fit anything I can wear onto it. So I stuck my stays on my older, smaller dress form, and while they're kind of loose, I just need them to be held up for the most part for me to pin the mockup to it. Right now, it looks like I just need to add an inch, inch and a half to the lower edge (how short was this lady?) and that's about it.
Of course, my white cotton still hasn't come in yet and I want this gown for Saturday, so ... should be an interesting week.
