Downton Abbey
Oct. 21st, 2013 12:02 pm- It's interesting that here we have Robert making a gamble/investment that for once actually appears to be a halfway decent idea. Or will it turn out to be just as awful as his other ideas,
- Is it just me, or is it a bit disappointing that Daisy hasn't even mentioned that it's unfair that Alfred can suddenly decide he wants to be a chef and head off to London to get a chance to train, while the highest she can ever achieve will be much less? It just feels like a missed opportunity. Not that I need Fellowes to be on top of all historical -isms, or for the characters to be anachronistically socially conscious. But considering that last season everyone was all, "It's the 1920s, everything is different," and considering that Daisy's higher-up than she used to be and probably has ambitions of going even further, I would have expected her to have at least a twinge at it.
- "You're even better to me because you were raped." Ehhhh, maybe not what I would have written.
- I have literally never felt as close to a character on this show as I now do to Alfred. Except sometimes Edith. But Alfred right now.
