Day of the Doctor

- I was spoiled for Paul McGann's presence in the prologue, and knew that Tom Baker was involved to some extent, but I am still loling over all the "it's just about
- I was really pleased with the way that Billie Piper was involved, because I had been nervous that Rose would be clingy and jealous (I believe Moffat has a good hand with writing her not that way, but it seemed possible that he would do it for humor). So I was glad she was there - because she is a pretty important aspect of New Who - but also glad she wasn't Rose and didn't interact with Ten. Piper's also gotten better at acting, imo.
- I'm not super pleased with the Doctor being married to Elizabeth I (although I don't think it makes her seem desperate) because of the reasons everyone's articulated by now, it does detract from her never marrying, but on the other hand this has previously been referred to IIRC so it's not like it's totally out of nowhere.
- What are sandshoes?
- I AM SO HAPPY that the Doctor is now looking for Gallifrey, because both 1) having more Time Lords opens up new avenues for one-off plots and long-term arcs and 2) "looking for Gallifrey" is, IMO, a better season arc than "we do stuff and there are little clues and then in the last few episodes it comes together".
- I AM ALSO SO HAPPY that my dash is now full of Doctor Who because last night there was hardly any.
- Actually I feel a bit bad for all the other Doctors, because Moffat basically said through Tom Baker that Four was the best ... but then it seems to be general opinion that Four was best.
- Did not like the "I don't want to go" callback because that will always and forever be RTD leaving gracelessly and not Ten himself.
- If you haven't watched The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot, fucking do it right now.
