I can't keep track of the days anymore. I haven't worked since last Wednesday - the car's in the shop to have the dent taken out and will be there until Wednesday at least.

Thank goodness I went with my Audrey Hepburn idea for the tea, because nobody else dressed up. (Also, it looked very cute. Until I took the bangs off, then I looked like a hideous monster with an enormous forehead with corners, who has corners on their forehead?) It really made me realize that without that traitor [personal profile] wereleopard we might have to try harder to make events happen. I mean, yes, it's nice to have a meal sometimes where everyone can talk about fannish stuff and just hang out together, but it's so much easier not to dress up that if it becomes a norm to be a mixed group of come-as-you-are and historical dress, everyone's going to come as they are. (I say this as someone who would be just as guilty, because I tend to hate everything I make.) I made two Fort Ti events on FB so that at least there isn't the "we're going to be dressed up when nobody else is" feeling that tempts one to skimp. But now I want to make another linen gown. Whomp whomp.

Tomorrow is going to be Redrawing That Last Pattern Day. I should have done it today but was being lazy. Instead I closed out a load of tabs from Chrome, well done me.

Everyone (my parents) seems to think I should cut my hair to make it look more professional. I admit to them that my hair's not very professional, being very frizzy and unstyled, but I don't think it ever looks professional when it's been cut, either. Cute, yes. It waves more than frizzes then. But it doesn't actually look professional as such. But then I saw [personal profile] kerrypolka's haircut and now I kind of want to cut mine. But mine doesn't look like that when I cut it! Styling products never do anything for me, because either my hair doesn't have enough in it to get an effect or there's enough and it looks wet and gross. Any tips?
