Feb. 16th, 2015 04:02 pmChanged my mind on wishing girl-reenacting was more like boy-reenacting! I liked a couple of comments or posts or something in a military-focused community so I'm seeing their posts more of the time, and I think I'd rather worry that everyone thinks I'm a bitch for disagreeing than have every conversation a competition.
As much as I want to live alone, I probably shouldn't. Mom left this afternoon for Delhi and already I have done nothing after work but watch Netflix (Spartacus, trying it out, not sure, it's very bloody) and compute for hours. Come on.
(Seriously, I get that it's about gladiators so there's got to be blood, but the loving slo-mo blood spatter is gratuitous. But you know, one thing I will give it is that the female slaves never look happy, and it seems like SO much fantasy/historical stuff that wants to have sex and boobs everywhere goes, "Oh, they like having sex with random guys/stripping/being naked furniture basically!" and the actresses are directed to look cheerful and enthusiastic. I hate that.)
(Hmm, you know, I think I've figured out exactly why I dislike plots where the hero is separated permanently from his original love interest. Apart from the way the tragedy is always his loss and not her death, I prefer more RL progressions than how a man is beaten on the anvil of life etc. to become a hero. I'd rather see them both have to survive in whatever circumstances, the way most people would, rather than seeing how a man is beaten on the anvil of life etc.)
What's the deal with this Wheel of Time business? Pretty crazy.
