Just a few more things left to pack! Everyday clothes (a drawer of shirts and the underwear/sock drawer, plus my jeans), some things scattered on top of my dresser, and my most immediate sewing stuff. Everything else is dealt with, and half of it is already in my car. Tomorrow's the day! I almost wish it were today so I could get it finished, but then I would have had to spend twice as much time yesterday on packing.

When we were picking Riley up from the groomer's on Main St, we went past the tailor's and I saw that she had a bunch of antique sewing machines in the front window, running from 1907 to the 1980s. I made Mom pull over and I got out to ask the tailor if she was looking to buy. In the end, I sold my 1941 Singer 99 for $50! (She wanted a 1940s machine to round out her collection, and the crinkle finish delighted her.) That's a $25 profit, or as I like to think of it, 200%. I think. Percent profits confuse me. Anyway. That's what I intended to do at first, before I decided to keep it, so I don't have any regrets. I'm still looking for a decent cabinet machine to use "regularly" (quotes for obvious reason) ... but I could see doing this again, getting a mystery machine cheap from a yard sale and cleaning it up, identifying it, and reselling. It's fun.
