Mar. 22nd, 2015 07:47 pmI watched a looooot of Netflix today, but at the same time I think I got a reasonable amount of stuff done. First thing, I finished up the edits I was supposed to do for my book - putting some of the writing onto the patterns, really just the gathered/pleated final measurements, and then editing the text to take that out - and sent them in.
Then, even though it was about 15-20 degrees out, I walked to get bagels (and lunch, because the one day a week I don't have a bagel for breakfast I have one for lunch) and then to Nature's Storehouse - there aren't many things I get there because some of the stuff is outrageously expensive, but I think the vegetables aren't, and some of the dried beans and seeds. More giant carrots, some mushrooms so I can make more handpies, lentils, and flax and sunflower seeds as I'm gradually making my bread more exciting.
As a reward to myself for being industrious, I was going to watch stuff and play Pharaoh, but that didn't really work out as I'd forgotten all the strategy, so I switched to finishing the wool dress that's been almost done for over a month. Well, I didn't quite, but that's because I had to put the zipper in, which I'm extremely bad at (especially when I follow the pattern instructions, like I did this time, instead of my mom's). It's not right, but it's not terrible, so I might leave it for a while, wear it - once I do the hem tomorrow - and sometime later take it in a little more in the back. Maybe I'll wait for Mom to come visit so she can do it for me like the last time I had to put a zipper in.
And then around dinnertime I went out to Price Chopper and got a few things - peanut butter, coconut milk, and soy sauce, because I've been kind of craving satay sauce - and Stewarts for milk to make yoghurt for the first time since I got here.
You see? You see? Those hours of Royal Pains were totally deserved.
