Apr. 20th, 2015 08:04 pmWhen it comes to stupid plot twists on OUAT, I've gotten over the hump. Yeah, what's the sad backstory for this villain? Awesome! But here's where I draw the line: it's the 1920s when Cruella's mother locked her up, and it's the 1920s ten(?) years later when the author takes Cruella to a nightclub. But it's also the 1940s because they're all swing dancing. SLOPPY.
(*keeps watching* I guess that was on purpose? I'm never really sure with this show.)
(Whoa, this is the first origin story where the villain is just Bad without having been mistreated by a good character, isn't it?)
(This is a really tortured and stupid plot even for OUAT.)

I have a couch! Dad and Melissa took me all over the place and we finally found a loveseat that united price with cleanliness and aesthetic, so now I can sit in my living room and compute, watch tv, and/or sew. Now what I need is a floor lamp, because the kitchen light and the living room light are both in the wrong spots to let me sew at night.
Speaking of sewing, my Regency dress is almost done. I'm a little worried that the back of the skirt is too long, but other than the hem I just need to finish the ends of the sleeves and then put them on the bodice. But I'm not sure if I'm going to the ball because I can't find my passport anywhere.
Sunday I went back to the flea market because when we'd checked out their couch selection, I noticed a Regency romance on a shelf, The Ill-Bred Bride. I looked it up on Amazon and it's a trad with a poor aristocratic hero and a trade heiress, which is my jam. So I picked it up and a couple of things for Etsy (I should probs rename my shop or something, it has very little to do with sewing), and when I was looking through a basket of sheet music I found a Ladies Home Journal from 1911 in great condition apart from the cover. Then in the back there were a couple of small bins of antique/vintage ribbons and seam bindings, which I half-emptied (after I'd ordered ribbon for this dress, unfortunately).
Seem to have pinkeye in my right eye. :|
While I was walking after dinner I finally saw one of the trains go by. This seems like a stupid thing to care about but I hear them so often at night that it was bugging me that I had never seen one yet.
Over the past week or so, I've been emailing with someone from OKCupid. He doesn't seem like a creep or a weirdo, and we're going to have dinner sometime this week. I'm wary that I expect too much of a spark on first meeting, but our online conversation doesn't seem forced and it's not just a double-sided interview like you sometimes end up in. I remain optimistic.
