I enjoyinged S1 of Indian Summers, but I've had to resort to FrockFlicks's costume recaps at times because I'm missing things.

I love that every show nowadays does families from three different classes with their own plotlines as well as intersecting ones. But doesn't it seem to always (or nearly) be the case that the working-class family has some Real Troubles and the upper-class family has some Secret Troubles, and the main issue for the middle-class family is that the wife is aspirational and kind of mean about it?

That said, I still kind of cheered inside when I realized that Sarah was essentially doing what she'd been blackmailing Alice over the whole series. That said, I don't really get how she was able to blackmail her in the first place, since Alice could just claim she was visiting her brother - and anyway, in 1932 it wouldn't be complete social suicide to separate. Though the fact that her husband apparently didn't suck would be a black mark against her, in the 1930s people were complaining that marriages were too casual and people were divorcing too nonchalantly.

I definitely need some early '30s day dresses. The evening dresses would never ever work for me, but the raised waistline, blousy bodices, and A-line skirts? Yes, yes.

Okay, I love Ian McCloud as much as the next everyone, but it was a bit much for the crowd to pick him up on their shoulders. At least in GoT they're imaginary ethnicities ...

Ralph had better get what's coming to him! He's physically very much my type but I have no sympathy. I love that Sooni is studying to be a lawyer and it's no big thing. She's probably my favorite. I want to like Madeleine, but I think I'm just a bit tired of her character type. (Refined, gorgeous, brittle, in a relationship with someone who doesn't love her, won't show how deeply she feels things.) And Alice has very little personality, but I put up with her because a) at least she's not racist like half the rest of the characters and b) well, Aafrin likes her and I like him. But what happened to Eugene?! I mean, Cynthia had him killed, right? She seemed like she was involved.

Cynthia dressing like it's 1922 is good character-wise, but I'm so tired of characters being dressed unrealistically behind the times. And the designer did that thing where they just state that she would have felt more comfortable in that and it's like, noooo, everyone would have been making fun of her for it especially as she's not even posh.

Trying to decide which bonnet to go with: Timely Tresses have some very nice straw forms and Anna Worden B. has a fancy one I fancy. But I can't figure out what would look best with my face ... none, really, I suppose. I'm a hat person, not a bonnet person. Fat cheeks. But I do like AWB's. Think I could pull it off?

Lately I've been playing this bizarre restaurant game - it's called Hunt Cook. You're the chef at a restaurant that specializes in wild game (and not just the normal things like fish and pheasant, but ravens and badgers??) and your boss is a shiba inu in a hat. IMO it has just enough action to be entertaining, just enough idling to make it not waste much of your time, and just enough of a challenge to keep you going without feeling stuck. Also, it's adorable.

Cannot wait for next week's Samantha Bee. CANNOT WAIT.
