Mar. 11th, 2017 02:02 pmThe Musketeers has shockingly good costuming, at least in the first season, for a show that's mainly concerned with swashbuckling. The main characters wear anachronistic leather all the time and Constance hardly ever puts a dress over her stays (you will note that she always wears a shift under them, though), but outside of that they do pretty well with silhouettes, waistlines, and treatment of fabric. The costumers pay a lot of attention to detail just in terms of construction, so even when something's inaccurate it looks like a real piece of clothing rather than a length of polyester stuck to a body.
JJ Feild was in an early episode and I didn't even recognize him. I'm so sorry, husbando.
(Just got to series two, and I Strongly Disapprove of the recasting of Constance. I suppose they had to because of War & Peace, but ...)
